How to Run your first 5 mins in 10 days!

Hi Runner!

I am a big fan of “DIY” (Do it yourself) and “How to — in — days”.
So here is an article that will let you run your first 5 mins in only 10 days!

In case you aren’t sure you meet the criteria to be able to run, please read this: Running is Universal before scrolling down.

Now that you know Running is for everyone, I will share with you a program you can follow to be able to run your first 5 mins in only 10 days!

Let’s go straight to the point :

Day 1: walk at a fast paced (brisk walk) for 25 mins
Day 2: walk for 5 mins then run for 30 secs (Repeat 4 times)
Day 3: walk for 4 mins then run for 45 secs (Repeat 4 times)
Day 4: walk for 3 mins then run for 1 min (Repeat 4 times)
Day 5: walk for 3 mins then run for 1:30 secs (Repeat 3 times)
Day 6: walk for 3 mins then run for 2 mins (Repeat 3 times)
Day 7: walk for 3 mins then run for 3 mins (Repeat 2 times)
Day 8: walk for 2 mins then run for 4 mins
Day 9: walk at a fast paced (brisk walk) for 25 mins
Day 10: Run your first full 5 mins !

Once you get to run your first 5 mins, you will be more confident to take it further and be able to run your first 1K, then your first mile (1.6 Km) and so on…

5 mins runs are short but powerful, don’t underestimate them! And being able to do it in just 10 days is an achievement ! Be proud !

If you are new here, I would also recommend you to read other articles I’ve been writing about running:

Happy Running!
